Defy the Imbeciles

sue and teri 2011 for blog copy

Time for a post, time for a post.

It’s Women’s History Month…no joke

the most recent fight is about looking up a woman’s dress.

What a mess

that in this year, 2014

is this what we have to glean?

The emphasis should be on curing disease, stopping repression

while mentoring more,  encouraging education.

Please teach our young women in the world,

to do the brilliant, to be decisive, and to unfurl

the power of her birthright to be more than “just a girl.”

We must encourage them to be smart, to accomplish and to dare

to defy

all those imbeciles out there.

Journal prompt: Write about women’s issues. Do you feel we have made progress in the year 2014? What are your thoughts about personal privacy?

I made it this far and plan to keep going. I believe nature heals the soul. I love to journal, to write, do art, and music. I'm not afraid to tackle tough subjects. Solar-powered & drive hybrid. Trying to do my part. Earned my BA at 53. And, I believe, it's never too late to have a happy childhood.

  1. That looking under the dress deal starts early. I don’t recall letting boys get a peak. It’s strange that grown men are doing it. I don’t know what they get out of it as men. That doesn’t say we can’t photo specific parts though but it such a waste of brain power.

  2. Hi Lynette, sorry for late reply! Had to get the computer fixed and have been slow on keeping the blog updated. You are so right about the idiocy. I’m appalled at some of the legislation being proposed this year. Forging ahead.
